Working on new material for Eisenhauer, as well as writing for other projects, the Burdens Down (Hank Williams style country band), and Podvig (Refused style punk band). Hopefully a concert will happen soon.

Merry Christmas. Almost exactly 1 year ago, Eisenhauer ‘turned off’. It was a much needed break, but we are regrouping, writing new material, and discussing a new recording for the new year. Thanks for keeping in touch.

EISENHAUER will be turning off for a while. We are going on a Christmas tour this
December, 2009. Than we might disappear for a while and possibly re-appear down
the road somewhere.

IN THE MEAN TIME, my wife Sheree Plett is releasing a new album this January, 2010,
and than she is releasing a new baby in March 2010. We hope to do some family tours
this summer, but who knows what will happen.

THANKS for all the fun these past few years. We’ll hopefully see you in a while.

Christmas Tour 2009 (& Babies)

This December we are hitting the road full band for a Christmas tour in Western Canada. Dates are coming real soon. Also! My lovely wife is having a baby soon! So we’ll be taking a break once the new year roles around. Stay updated on our other blog if you please!

I said before that I deleted the Eisenhauer facebook page. Turns out I don’t really know how to do that. So it’s still there for you to enjoy, but the updates will be scarce at best.

The rumors are true – we are touring again. This fall Eisenhauer kicks it with Lance Odegard and, of course, Sheree Plett. We’re doing 6 or 7 shows in BC and Alberta. Look a little to your right for all the dates.

Over the past months I’ve take some what of a leave of absence from the blog, website and myspace. I plan on maintaining it somewhat – but we will be blogging everyday day on tour – and those posts will go up on Tvitter if you need another excuse to sit around and wait for our posts.

It’ll be great to back on the road for a few days! And even greater to see a few familiar faces in Calgary and Edmonton and so on. Please come and say hi and hear the new line up

It’s been a while! Home from tours, and planning more – including a tour with Lance Odegard in BC and Alberta this September. Look for dates soon.

Also! In an effort to slow down, I have deleted the EISENHAUER Facebook group, and am no longer Twittering. Weird turn of events? We went from blogging, facebooking, twittering, websiting and myspacing on the tour. TOO MUCH! I hope this will slow things down for us, and for you too.

Check it out!
We’re now keeping tabs on our tours! You can read about them here on the TourTourTour blog. The plan is that we are going to try and take you with us when we tour. We’re calling it a ‘Real-Time’ Documentary. We’ll be touring for all of June and some of July this summer all across Canada (Vancouver to Halifax and everywhere in between). So the hope is that every day, we’ll blog about what is happening, take some pictures, and videos etc.

Right now both these sites are set up as retrospective sites – documenting our last tour in April. We will be posting updates on the goings on of booking, promoting and all the other junk that goes with booking long tours.

Tours are being booked:
-In April you will find us in Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer.
-In June you will find us touring from Vancouver to Halifax.

Until than, we’re playing around town at some fun events and recording Sheree’s new album in March. If all goes well, we’ll be doing short or long tours every month from April until October/November. Stay tuned for more dates.

We struggle on.
Over the past 10 or so months (and on and off for the past few years), we have been trying and trying to make music our career. No jobs, no set income, no hourly clocking in and out. It’s no easy task, but it can be so rewarding. Are we crazy? We are not on a big label, getting paid big money. We fund our own recordings, our own tours, our own publicity.

Some mornings I wake up and ask: Is music worth all this effort? Can an artist really make a living if he/she isn’t known on an international level? When is it time to get a job that pays real money? Why can’t I just go to work like most people, and make a descent living?

When it all boils down, I know that performing, and writing, and recording, these things are my crafts. And just because I can’t sell them at IKEA, doesn’t mean I can’t do everything possible to make my music my life.

So tell me what you think: info@eisenhauermusic.com. Some days we just need someone to tell us how it is. Most days, my wife does that for me, but today could be your day!

News:We’re finally releasing ‘Time of Year’ in stores all over the country. January 13th, 2009 is the official in-store release. Also please phone or email your local college/coop radio station and request Eisenhauer!

Shows: We’re booking Canadian and US tours for April and a whole bunch of crazy stuff for June/July and hopefully September. If you want us to play in your house, let us know!

Other than that, we’re recording a new full length ‘Sheree Plett’ album in March. Watch for it!
